Description
Hey there, weather enthusiasts! It's time for your 3-day forecast brought to you by the U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, Space Weather Prediction Center. Let's dive into what's been happening...
show moreLet's dive into what's been happening and what we can expect in the realm of geomagnetic activity, solar radiation, and radio blackouts.
Starting with geomagnetic activity, we've seen some mild activity with a Kp of 3 in the past 24 hours. Moving forward, we anticipate the Kp to peak at around 4 over the next few days. Good news - no G1 (Minor) or greater geomagnetic storms are on the horizon.
When it comes to solar radiation, levels have been behaving themselves, staying below storm thresholds. The forecast shows a minimal 5% chance of any S1 (Minor) or greater solar radiation storms occurring.
Now, onto radio blackouts - we've had some action hitting R1 levels lately. The forecast predicts a 55% chance of R1-R2 (Minor-Moderate) radio blackouts, with a slim 10% chance of R3 or greater events.
So, in summary, it looks like we're in for a relatively calm few days in terms of space weather activity. Keep an eye on those radio blackout possibilities, though!
