Does it really matter what we do, as long as we have faith? James has some rather strong feelings about that question! How do life and faith intersect? In Isaiah, we hear a prophecy of Jesus. The Gospel reading from Mark demonstrates how that prophecy is fulfilled in Jesus. But is it just about caring for the poor and needy (or performing miracles to heal them, as Jesus did), or where does faith play into all this? What IS the big deal?
