While coaches provide physical and technical training for the elite sportsmen and women, chaplains complement the holistic approach by providing emotional and spiritual support, not just for the players but for the wider staff at the clubs and events. This week we take an inside look at the role of chaplains as we hear from Charlton Athletic chaplain, Matt Baker, and two of the chaplaincy team at the recent Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, New Zealander Ross Georgiou and Steve Jones from Wales.
