The first Saturday of college football has just wrapped up, and it was an exhilarating day for football fans everywhere! While there weren't any high-profile matchups, the games still gave us a taste of what's to come in the upcoming months.

One game that truly stood out was Notre Dame's impressive victory over Navy in Dublin, Ireland. The Fighting Irish welcomed their new quarterback, Sam Hartman, who had an incredible debut. He threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his talent as he effortlessly led the team in their new offensive scheme. Not only that, but Hartman also hit a major milestone in his career by surpassing 13,000 passing yards!

Meanwhile, USC's quarterback, Caleb Williams, proved why he deserved the prestigious Heisman Trophy with a stellar performance against San Jose State. He threw four touchdowns and played exceptionally well, but the real star of the game was the freshman receiver, Zachariah Branch. Branch was nothing short of sensational as he scored touchdowns as both a receiver and a kick returner, leaving fans in awe of his skills.

In another thrilling matchup, Vanderbilt faced off against Hawai'i. The game had its share of challenges, including lightning delays, but Vanderbilt emerged triumphant with a nail-biting 35-28 win. Their resilience and determination paid off, securing them a well-deserved victory.
