This weeks podcast is all my current musings and thoughts on how we all start costing the new logistic issues of putting events, live launches and shows on in 2021.
Traditional ways of marketing work has died.
Live events – also the logistics and budgets on how do we get started again?
One of my Brighton Fringe 2020 venues emailed me about Brighton 2021 for my The Singing Psychic Game Show
I like to performing two shows a day as costing it really helps for the budgeting and break evens.
I always put spreadsheets together to cost my tours and see if I can make a profit from costs of venues, travel, accommodation, posters, marketing, door staff, more tech, other band members, brochure costs, what happens if you don’t sell enough tickets, is the cost all on you, commission fees due, door splits.
The reason I do have a career is partly my 10,000 hours plus a lot of persistence, some luck, and my finance background.
I regularly ask myself questions like how are we marketing this? How I am moving this forward? My The Singing Psychic show has – 3 different versions, webseries, a podcast, live TV and radio work, corporate work inc Tedx, Brit awards. How do I keep the brand going forward in 2021
If I say yes and stick to the budget and my spreadsheets we set in 2020 including the fees and the costs - do the maths still work in 2021 if they drop to 50% capacity suddenly?

All of us in live events are looking at how are we getting from here in lockdown to shows in 2021 – how am I making it work logistically and budget wise. As a DJ, comic, an artist, a filmmaker, how do I launch projects that often would have been live events to get press.
I am not gigging 5 x a week presently as pre lockdown so I have more mental time to plan.
I don’t have answers yet but I do know is that to solve to anything is to ask the questions and start dreaming.
I know I must keep my characters and the brands going ..I will not let my characters die .
So It will be compromise and solutions even if on a smaller scale, I can’t take as much risk early 2021, maybe do a shorter run ..
What are the risks you can afford to take, financially?

About me, Marysia Trembecka

I am at heart a storyteller and this has translated from the initial creation of work to being a performer, including film and theatre acting, writing and performing international touring comedy shows to MCing.

Highlights include sell-out Adelaide and Edinburgh Fringe shows, singing at the Royal Festival Hall in 23 different languages, as well as doing TEDx talks and corporate gigs, such as the Brit Awards Afterparty at the 02 as my ‘The Singing Psychic’ bio queen character.

My ‘THE SINGING PSYCHIC’ who ‘reads the songs in your heart’ also has a GAME SHOW version, and was a finalist in Best Show, Funny Women in 2016, and I have toured internationally since then.
I have also produced five webseries as the character including my 23 episode SONGS OF BREXIT webseries I made for the June 2016 EU Referendum, on the pros and cons of the EU, I started the web series singing The Clash’s ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now’. It was very well received due to the blend of education and entertainment, and I ended up on London Live and even a BBC2 Live Debate on the National Living Wage amongst other press of the back of that.

I also was awarded Arts Council funding for research on a solo show on how we are all judged by our sexuality, so as part of that, I interviewed people on the cutting edge of sexual politics. From this I then created another character ‘Queen Of The F*cking World’ which has also toured internationally from Glasgow WOFF film festival in the female perspective strand to sell-out London, Edinburgh and Adelaide runs. I sing well and play the bass guitar and guitar in this show.

My film acting credits can be found on IMDB and indeed my projects are on my media gallery http://marysiatrembecka.com/media-gallery/
