The murder of Odin Lloyd put Aaron Hernandez on the entire world’s radar. But this was not his first brush with the law. In his late teens/early twenties, Aaron Hernandez was acquitted on a murder charge after shooting two people in public. His long-time erratic behavior demands we consider two questions- was his behavior spawned by the privilege he was given early on? Or was it a result of CTE? After his death and subsequent autopsy, Aaron Hernandez was found to have the most extreme case of CTE to date. While it does not excuse his behavior, there may be more to understanding Aaron Hernandez and his behavior than just privilege.
On June 22, 1983, 14-year-old Emanuela Orlandi went missing after her flute lesson. Her case still captivates Italy today and it’s not hard to see why. Shortly after her disappearance, the case took a conspiracy theory-esque turn. Soon she was tied in with a man in jail for an assassination attempt against the Pope. Later, it was the Italian mafia who took her as collateral against Vatican City whom owed the Italian Mob money. Then some speculated that she was kidnapped for the purposes of a sex party. While all these tips and theories swirl close to the surface, we may never know what really happened the day Emanuela Orlandi disappeared.
