After dealing with the incompetence of public transportation and having his shitty McDonalds boss up his ass for tardiness and failure to notify, Karl walks down South Side's East Carson street on a Friday night/Saturday morning after work.  He looks back on his day and on his life while watching people having a good time with their friends partying and getting drunk... and Karl just wonders... why not him?
