Col. Nafus is the top Marine Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer for New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and United States Virgin Islands. He was part of the emergency preparedness military team of two dozen officers from Army, Navy, Air Force and Unites States Marine Corps at Naval Weapons Station Earle in New Jersey.
Col. Nafus is a 28 year veteran of the United States Marine Corps and Unites States Marine Corps Reserve. He is an Iraq War veteran and was the Company Commander of Rochester's Marine 8th Tank Battalion during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He also served as legal adviser to the General in Operation Enduring Freedom, NATO's campaign against Quaddafi's Libyan regime in 2011.
