Incarcerated Black Men Used as Political Pawns
Our Special Guest , Brother Willie X Brown, a Richmond Virginia resident and Returning Citizen, served 35 years and 11 months in the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Corrections. Since being released November 30, 2018, Brother Willie X has spoken at a Prison Reform Rally, advocated and spoken in support of Bills at the State General Assembly for the incarcerated, advocated with family members at Parole Interviews on behalf of their loves confined, and currently a part of a newly formed Criminal Justice Committee formed by Brenda Cole's Brown, the President of the Richmond VA Chapter for The National Action Network organization.
Brother Willie has done Facebook lives on the effects that COVID 19 has on prison and the justice system. This led to an interview with a news reporter in Roanoke about how the justice system does not properly handle COVID 19 in regards to inmates.#SandraWilson of #BlackConnectionsLLC conducted a live interview with Brown to discuss both his community works and his sports apparel brand, Bordaline Unlimited LLC. #blackconnectionsllc and the Returning Citizens Changing the Narrative did a documentary about his time before, during, and after prison living.
Brown currently runs his own sports apparel company with intentions of starting his own fitness brand and sports agency. He is in the process of growing an empire that involves using previous
experiences to encourage and empower the youth of Richmond’s growing inner city environment.
