El departamento Colombiano de San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina, ubicado a unos 750 km del continente en el Mar Caribe, es la cuna de los Raizales, un grupo étnico anglófono de la cultura afro-caribeña. En los últimos años el número de las personas en Colombia que han trasladado para vivir permanentemente en estas islas ha aumentado mucho.
Para muchos Raizales esta situación, junto a las políticas colombianas, ha causado un deterioro constante de su cultura.
En este episodio hablamos con un Raizal de San Andrés para entender más de la historia de su pueblo, sus problemas actuales con el gobierno de Colombia y sus esperanzas para el futuro.

Colombia's archipelago department of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, some 750 km off the country's coast in the Caribbean Sea, is home to the English-speaking Raizals, a Protestant Afro-Caribbean ethnic group.
In recent years these islands have seen a big increase in the number of mainland settlers.
For many local Raizals this, coupled with Colombian policy, has precipitated the steady erosion of their culture.
Here we speak with a San Andrés-based Raizal to get an overview of his people's history, their current problems with Colombian officialdom and their hopes for the future.
