American actress, director and producer who is best known for appearing as high school secretary Lovita Alizé Jenkins-Robinson in The WB sitcom 'The Steve Harvey Show'. Later on, she had regular roles in the series 'All of Us' and 'Meet the Browns', and had recurring roles in 'Soul Food', 'Greenleaf' and 'Mann & Wife'. Her few notable film roles were in movies, such as 'Friday', 'Black Scorpion', 'Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood', 'Black Scorpion II: Aftershock', 'Dirty Laundry' and 'Daddy's Little Girls'. Terri J. Vaughn, who grew up in San Francisco, later established the 'Take Wings Foundation' to motivate, uplift, and inspire adolescents aged 13 to 18 growing up in public housing and foster care in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Rise to Stardom
While studying in her senior year at California State University, Terri J. Vaughn was encouraged by a friend to participate in the 'Miss Black California Pageant'. During the competition, she read a passage from Ntozake Shange's 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf', which helped her secure a spot in the Los Angeles finals where one of the judges offered her a role in a play he was producing. She subsequently went on a 20-city tour of 'Tellin' It Like It Tiz' and began acting on stage regularly.
In 1993, she made her television debut with a small role in the hit television series 'Living Single', and had an uncredited role in the film 'Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit'. Throughout the decade, she appeared on television series such as 'The Sinbad Show', 'Married... with Children' and 'Family Matters', and had roles in films like 'Friday', 'Black Scorpion' and its sequel 'Black Scorpion II: Aftershock', 'Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood' and 'Carnosaur 3: Primal Species', In 1997, she was cast in the breakthrough role of Lovita Alizé Jenkins-Robinson in the second season of 'The Steve Harvey Show', for which she earned three 'NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series' in 2001-03.

In 2009, with immeasurable help from family and friends, he founded San Francisco’s 4505 Meats, an artisan whole-animal butchery company devoted to sustainable practices. Dedicated to flavor and quality, and with a strong commitment to supporting the local food community, 4505 Meats sold handmade sausages, grass-fed burgers, their signature 4505 Chicharrones, and cuts of meat at the renowned Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market for over seven years.
In 2012, Ryan opened a whole-animal butcher shop in San Francisco's Mission District, sourcing animals from local farms and ranches. He also taught butchery and sausage-making classes and published two books: Whole Beast Butchery and Sausage Making (both from Chronicle Books).
4505 Burgers & BBQ, the company’s first restaurant, opened in 2014 near San Francisco's Alamo Square. The restaurant is equipped with one of the city’s last remaining historic wood-fired barbecue pits. In 2016, Ryan announced plans to open a second location of 4505 Burgers and BBQ in the Laurel District in Oakland, CA, which is slated to open in 2018.
Ryan's first product, 4505 Chicharrones, initially made in his apartment kitchen and sold to local bars, also gained popularity as the business grew. They became the first all-natural pork rinds to market with placement in Northern California Whole Foods locations and other Bay Area retailers. In 2016, 4505 expanded distribution of their flagship product and today you can find 4505 Chicharrones in over 6,000 retailers nationwide.
