Western society seems hyper-focused on chasing down anything that might promise even just a little happiness, but then quickly dissatisfied and disappointed once they've obtained their objective. The most advanced nations also struggle with some of the highest rates of depression, meanwhile, many poor and emerging nations actually report some of the lowest numbers. How can this be? How can they have joy when they have so little, while those with much are rarely ever satisfied?
