Welcome to this week’s edition of Appalachia Matters  

At the Leadership Table with General Hoyer this week is Andrew Stover, an airman in the National Guard who helps refuel other planes while they are both in flight! Andrew is a university student, a volunteer with the Veterans History Project through the Library of Congress, and he’s a new dad!  

He talks about the roles of time management and volunteer work as an up-and-coming leader and shares upcoming opportunities in the Mountain State to help veterans in their quest to continue their service as civilians as they transition from military positions.    

In the West Virginia Department of Agriculture's segment West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture Kent Leonhardt talks about West Virginia’s hemp industry.  He talks about the various uses and various regulatory issues. Hemp is used in clothes, production of CBD Oil and other products.    

Tom Susman talks with the Herns about their thriving honey business. They got in to raising bees and producing honey because of a Christmas gift from their kids. Tom caught up with them at a Farmers Market.  

The Glow Movement is active in the Mid-Ohio Valley to help those who are dealing with addiction. Bo Higby talks with the founder of the movement. Out of loss comes this important organization.
