This week on Around the Cracker Barrel, join Guy Atchley broadcasting from Posada Java on the La Posada campus! Guy will chat with La Posada's dedicated team, including Marci Yenerich, Resident Volunteer for the Treasure Shoppe and Flowers; Alexis Ruiz, Activities Specialist for Adult Day Services; and Barbara Salazar, Volunteer Manager for La Posada and La Posada Community Services, to learn more about the rewarding volunteer programs on campus.

Barbara shares that La Posada is powered by the support of over 350 volunteers, a vibrant group of both residents and non-residents who enhance campus life in countless ways. Marci talks about her experience as a resident and volunteer, where her love for art shines in her work with the Treasure Shoppe and Flowers. Alexis highlights the engaging programs within Adult Day Services, a social club that typically brings together 15–18 participants for each activity.

Barbara also touches on the state requirements involved in their diverse programming, which the team efficiently meets to ensure high standards. Sylvia Valdez, Administrator for La Posada Adult Day Services, explains the process for becoming a volunteer and encourages those interested to call 520-393-6800. Barbara reminds us that volunteers are “the icing on the cake,” bringing invaluable support to both residents and programs alike.
