Description
Better known as vocalist for English hard rock upstarts Asking Alexandria, Danny Worsnop has also forged a reputable solo career, releasing two albums to critical acclaim and taking his voice...
show moreHe is bringing the show to Australia later this month, with a show that promises to differ greatly from public expectation.
"This is an entirely different show", he stressed. "I sat with one of my producers and my guitarist and we sat down and more or less re-thought the entire approach to the show and came up with something very different and very special. I for one am very excited about it".
After fronting Asking Alexandria for the last decade, it came as a surprise to many when Danny released his debut solo album The Long Road Home in 2017, but to Worsnop, it was always a matter of when not if.
"Variety", he answered matter-of-factly when pressed on why he decided to venture into solo territory. "I get bored very quickly. I'm a songwriter and as soon as I started making music it was the blues and rock stuff that came out. That's the music inside me. While I thoroughly love and enjoy what we do with Asking Alexandria I need to get me out too. Our touring schedule slowed down and we kind of got to the level of success where we didn't need to tour 11 months of the year so I finally had time to breathe and explore new things".
In the full interview Danny discusses the tour further, the reception to Shades of Blue, why this album steers away from the country influence of his debut, the direction of future albums, exciting new plans for the next release, how playing solo allows him to express different sides of his songwriting ability, where Asking Alexandria sits with new music and more.
