According to Massachusetts Governor Baker, a preliminary report from an internal review of the Registry of Motor Vehicles shows the registry has failed to manually check tens of thousands of license infractions from out of state — creating a backlog of over a year. Also being investigated is whether the Bay State notified other jurisdictions of infractions here. The review comes after 7 people were killed after being hit by an impaired driver whose license should have been suspended or revoked. Has this episode destroyed public confidence in the Governor?
