Black History Month and we are going to take a deeper dive into the Forgotten and hidden history of America. This show will feature two parts. First we will hear from renowned sociologist, historian, author and professor, Dr. #James Loewen as he discusses the notion of Sundown Towns in America. Did you know that the town you live in may have had an ordinance that forbids you from being in that town after the sun goes down? Just base on your race? Did you know that the property you own may have a condition, convenant and restriction for you living in that abode just based on your race? This is American history. It's funny because many areas that are now populated by people of color were, just a generation ago, a Sundown town.
Then we will visit one of the most impressive collections of black American historical artifacts that I have ever seen. @DavidMcLucas and Sheba Gillis come through to show us fascinating historical artifacts and the stories behind them. Class is in session on Coffee Conversations with Greg J.
