In this episode we continue studying the book of Revelation. We discuss the second beast and his mark. We note this beast or beastly man is the false prophet who performs miracles. That according to Revelation chapter 16 he performs those miracles by the power of devils.

The beast gives life to the image of the first beast who represents Satan.

We point to the fact that In Genesis chapter 1 verse 26, God said lets us make man in our image.

So it is also possible this verse means, the beast will seek to make man in Satan’s image.

Mounce dictionary says, image refers to likeness, resemblance, a representation.

Jesus once said to Peter, in Matthew 16:23  "Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Offence means impediment, a stumbling block."

Savourest means, to exercise the mind, that is, entertain or have a sentiment or opinion; to be (mentally) disposed, intensively to interest oneself in with concern or obedience, set the affection on.

We will begin to resemble Satan as we intensively interest ourselves in the things of men, instead of being intensively interested in the things of God.

What does the text mean when it says, the beast causes All to receive the mark. All means everyone, the text says, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, receive all mark in their right hand or in their foreheads.

Is it possible that we have all received the mark? Is this what Revelation Chapter 15 refers to:

Revelation 15:2  "And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God."

Notice they got the victory over the mark! The same that happens to those that receive the mark happens to those who fail to overcome. Both groups have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone.

Jesus said, in Revelation chapter 21 verses 7 and 8 says,  "He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
