The foundation upon which women’s pro surfing rests was built by an outrageous and adventurous group of pioneers in the 1970s who deserve to have their names immortalized on a Mount Rushmore of Surfing. One such key surfer is Lynne Boyer, 2x IPS World Champion. She was perhaps one of the most fiercest competitors in history of the sport. Her rivalry with 4x World Champion Margo Oberg is the stuff of legend, drawing comparisons to the Evert–Navratilova battles in Tennis. Lynne's life has seen many accomplishments and has had to overcome an enormous amount of adversity. From battling alcoholism and drug addiction to realizing her sexuality.
