Story Transcript:
En: One early autumn morning, sprinkled with dew and yellowing leaves, Sondre began his first day at the local high school.
Nb: I tankene sine overtenkte han absolutt alt.
En: In his mind, he overthought absolutely everything.
En: He had laid out his clothes the day before, hoping the sweater would make a good impression.
En: The chill gently bit at the air as he approached the large, old building.
Nb: Ingrid derimot, var ny i byen.
En: Ingrid, on the other hand, was new to town.
Nb: Hun hadde flyttet fra en annen by og kjente ingen her.
En: She had moved from another city and knew no one here.
En: But her goal was clear: she would make new friends.
En: With a smile that could brighten a gray sky, she entered the schoolyard.
En: It didn't take long for Ingrid to notice Sondre.
Nb: Han sto litt i utkanten, lyttet mer enn han snakket.
En: He stood somewhat on the periphery, listening more than talking.
En: She thought to herself that she should say hello, but it wasn't easy to break into the conversations already happening around her.
En: The school bell rang, and the day flew by.
Nb: Sondre gjennomførte første dagens klassinger med nervene i behold.
En: Sondre got through the first day's classes with his nerves intact.
En: Still, he was exhausted from constantly analyzing everything happening around him.
En: When the school day ended, he decided to take a detour to the local coffee roastery.
En: The roastery was inviting, filled with the aroma of freshly roasted beans.
En: It was a small place with wooden tables and large windows that let in the warm afterglow of the sun before it set.
Nb: Sondre døste nesten bort i den koselige atmosfæren.
En: Sondre nearly drifted off in the cozy atmosphere.
En: That's when Ingrid came in, also seeking a break after a busy day.
En: Ingrid bought a coffee and moved between the tables when Sondre, lost in thought, got up to find sugar.
Nb: De kolliderte, og kaffen hennes sølte utover bordet og gulvet.
En: They collided, and her coffee spilled over the table and floor.
Nb: Et øyeblikk sto de begge stille, forskrekket over hendelsen.
En: For a moment, they both stood still, startled by the incident.
Nb: "Å nei! Beklager!" utbrøt Sondre, rød som en tomat.
En: "Oh no! Sorry!" exclaimed Sondre, red as a tomato.
En: "It's completely fine," Ingrid said with a smile, relieved to have an excuse to start a conversation.
En: They laughed together, a slightly nervous laugh that broke the ice between them.
En: Soon they were sitting at the small wooden table, chatting like old acquaintances.
En: They talked about the school day, with Sondre sharing how he felt insecure and Ingrid her desire to find her own friends.
En: "Encounters like this must happen," Ingrid said with a twinkle in her eye.
En: "How else are we going to get to know each other?"
En: Eventually, they discovered they shared more interests than just being students at the same school.
En: Both enjoyed reading, loved music, and had a curious nature.
Nb: Da solen forsvant bak trærne, hadde de blitt venner.
En: As the sun disappeared behind the trees, they had become friends.
En: Sondre felt a new calm; he could actually talk to new people without the world falling apart.
En: Ingrid felt the warmth of a new friend's welcome.
En: Walking home that evening, they both knew it was just the start of a friendship.
Nb: En enkel kaffebarulykke hadde bragt dem sammen, men nysgjerrige og åpne hjerter gjorde dem venner for livet.
En: A simple coffee shop accident had brought them together, but curious and open hearts made them friends for life.
