Our "Flashback Friday" consists of honoring the grand dame of Genoa City. Jeanne Cooper, who portrayed the character beginning in 1973, passed away in 2013, every year since, "Y&R" acknowledges and pays tribute to the beloved character.
I recently, just on a whim, decided to go through my old archives of podcasts, and came across one I did with Ms. Cooper. I was just enamored at how real she was, not to mention down to earth. Promoting her book, "Not Young, Still Restless: A Memoir," Ms. Cooper talked about her relationship with Beau Kizer (Brock Reynolds), who also recently passed away, Kay's relationship with Rex Sterling, played by Quinn Redeker, plus much more in-depth conversation.
This podcast took place in 2012, on the day of the Sandy Hook shooting. The talk got even more real as we also talked about that, as well.
What a remarkable woman, and incredible actress. Jeanne Cooper, you are forever missed to this day. We love you and Kay.
