show moreGod wants you to be aware of your Insufficiency, so you will Rejoice IN CHRIST SUFFICIENCY!
The LORD JESUS says to you, My GRACE is SUFFICIENT for you, for My Strength Is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, you can boast in your Insufficiency, in your Weaknesses most gladly knowing that MY POWER Rest upon you. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
The fact is that we possess all sufficiency for all things in Him.
Today we want to focus on all that is bound up in this lavishly bestowed and given to us IN CHRIST JESUS.
My goal is that you may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that you may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, IN WHOM are hidden All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:2-3)
Scripture says, IN CHRIST dwells all the fullness of Deity, the Godhead IN bodily form, and you are COMPLETE IN CHRIST, you literally have been filled up, you have been brought to fullness IN CHRIST. For you are IN HIM, made full and having come to fullness of life IN CHRIST for you too are filled with the Godhead–Father, Son and Holy Spirit–and reach full spiritual stature. Who is the Head of all rule and authority of every angelic principality and power. (Colossians 2:9-10)
This is the surpassing theme of the New Testament, which is distilled and articulated in this phrase. Everything from Matthew to Revelation speaks to the issue of the sufficiency of Jesus Christ.
Yes from God, you have your life in Christ Jesus, He raised us up together with Christ and made us sit down together, giving us joint seating with Christ in the heavenly sphere by virtue of our being in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6)
Whom God made our Wisdom from God, to reveal to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as our Righteousness, thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God, and our Consecration making us pure and holy, and our Redemption providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin. (1 Corinthians 1:30)
In 2 Corinthians 12:9 it says, “My grace” – that is the grace of God in Christ – “is sufficient for you.”
In Ephesians 1:3 it says that, “We have in Christ been blessed with all spiritual blessings in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus.” And Hebrews 10:14 says, “By one offering He has perfected forever them that are His, or sanctified forever them that are His.”
So all of these Scriptures speak to the fact of our total sufficiency IN JESUS CHRIST for every need for ALL time and eternity. And no clearer statement exists than that of Colossians 2:10, “You are complete in Him.”
Having the LORD Jesus Christ is to have everything you need. To have Him is to have everything, not to have Him is to have absolutely nothing at all.
All love, joy, peace, meaning, value, purpose, hope, fulfillment in life now and forever is bound up in Christ. And when a person receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, they enter into an all-sufficient relationship with an all-sufficient Christ.
1. Jesus is your Scriptural Sufficiency.
2. Jesus is your Resource Sufficiency.
3. Jesus is your Strength Sufficiency.
4. Jesus is your Redemption Sufficiency.
I pray that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, to exercise every kind of endurance and patience, perseverance and forbearance with joy, Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God's holy people) in the Light. The Father has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, which means the forgiveness of our sins.
Colossians 1:11-14
Claiming the sufficiency of Christ, and realizing our sufficiency in Christ, is the absolute key to being victorious in our battles. Yes, we must be free from our attitude of self-sufficiency. We must have the might of Christ in our challenges, and in our weaknesses allow Christ to be our strength!
