De: In Berlin gab es ein Mädchen namens Petra.
En: In Berlin, there was a girl named Petra.

De: Petra liebte es, den Weihnachtsmarkt zu besuchen.
En: Petra loved visiting the Christmas market.

De: Jedes Jahr im Dezember ging sie hin.
En: Every year in December, she would go there.

De: Dieses Jahr war sie besonders aufgeregt.
En: This year, she was particularly excited.

De: Die Lichter am Markt glänzten hell.
En: The lights at the market were shining brightly.

De: Die Stände boten viele Spielzeuge und Süßigkeiten an.
En: The stalls offered many toys and sweets.

De: Petra rieb sich vor Freude die Hände.
En: Petra rubbed her hands with joy.

De: Sie konnte es kaum erwarten, über den Markt zu gehen.
En: She couldn't wait to walk around the market.

De: Auf dem Markt traf Petra ihren Freund Tim.
En: At the market, Petra met her friend Tim.

De: "Hier ist sie für dich, Petra", sagte er.
En: "Here it is for you, Petra," he said.

En: Petra was very happy.

De: Sie dankte dem Mann und bezahlte die Kugel.
En: She thanked the man and paid for the bauble.

De: Dann ging sie mit Tim weiter über den Markt.
En: Then she continued on the market with Tim.

De: Sie hatten viel Spaß.
En: They had a lot of fun.

De: Sie tranken heiße Schokolade und aßen Lebkuchen.
En: They drank hot chocolate and ate gingerbread.

De: Schließlich kam der Abend.
En: Eventually, evening came.

De: Der Markt schloss bald.
En: The market was closing soon.

De: Petra und Tim sagten auf Wiedersehen.
En: Petra and Tim said goodbye.

De: Petra konnte es kaum erwarten, zu Hause ihren schönen Weihnachtsbaum zu schmücken.
En: Petra could hardly wait to decorate her beautiful Christmas tree at home.

De: Zu Hause hing Petra die Kugel auf.
En: At home, Petra hung up the bauble.
