Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team has served the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England since 1963. For over 70 years, the volunteers have been on call 24 hours a day 365 days a year. They are ready at a moment's notice to head out into the mountains in the most treacherous of weather conditions and risk their lives to save climbers, fell runners and walkers who find themselves in danger. In this podcast we get to hear from 7 retired members of the team as they recall their memories of adventures, training and innovation in mountain rescue.
