Perth band Conform have elected not to coast into the New Year, instead seeing out 2019 by unleashing brutal single 'Luxury Letdown'.
"It's got a bit of everything", explained vocalist Jeremy Pickett. "It's got metalcore, hip-hop, a bit of rap and a bit of screaming so it's got a good mix of everything."
The song is a scathing attack on social media, with Pickett saying he has had enough of people and companies using the platform to control the public.
"It's just a build up of observations I've made during my degree at university", he shrugged. "I thought I would throw some slack back at things like the fashion industry who overprice their clothing and that sort of thing".
But don't expect a song of hope and answers.
"Nah, everything's fucked", Pickett laughed. "It's completely fucked. We are not a band about happy endings".
In the full interview Jeremy talks more about the song, their EP next year and its musical direction, Russian underground music and where it fits in with Conform's sound going forward, their recent show with Thy Art Is Murder, the isolation bands face being from Western Australia and what can be done to overcome that, next years shows with Amity Affliction and Ocean Grove and more.
