show moreYesterday, I was intolerant. Yesterday a Lyft driver, for the fourth time in one year, refused to take me because of my service animal. But this time, I just couldn’t take it. I engaged her and called her stupid, repeatedly, on video tape. I appeared unhinged and rude, because at that moment, I was. My tolerance for stupid had run out and I became intolerant.
stu·pid
/ˈst(y)o͞opəd/
adjective
adjective: stupid; comparative adjective: stupider; superlative adjective: stupidest
having or showing a great lack of intelligence or common sense.
Maybe yours has, too. Maybe it’s acceptable to half the nation that 175k are dead, that kids are going to get sick in school, that a State is on fire, or the hottest August on record…Stupid got us here and the tolerance of it.
But, you can’t face stupidity with blatant intolerance, or, you just become stupid. Stupid solutions are everywhere. Lyft. Uber, Postmates, stupid solutions to bigger problems. There’s plenty of stupid solutions to problems everywhere and so many are getting weary of them, myself included.
So, yesterday, I had my fill and engaged stupid and that was, well, stupid.
But how long before we all just stop allowing ridiculousness to rule the day? The RNC is stupid. Allowing these people to do this at this time is stupid. Fox News is stupid.
And have we simply because Stupid because we allow it?
We also talk RNC and being bitter in your 40s versus now.
