Because the old man - the one who was under the law and thus alive to it - is crucified with Christ, we who are in Christ are now dead to the law, meaning we no longer have the same relationship with the law that the old man had. We are no longer condemned by it and it no longer has any bearing on our righteousness. Christ alone, through His work on the cross alone, is now our righteousness, and the righteousness He gives as a free gift by grace through faith is enough. Learn more in this teaching.
