Today, a federal appeals court has overturned the death penalty for Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The ruling cites a judge’s error that has resulted in the reversal of three of Tsarnaev’s convictions along with the motion to vacate the death sentence. The court has ordered a new penalty phase trial.
