The Living Full Out show wants you to be a survivor in life. There are many challenges that will come your way, but you can possess the power to overcome them. You have the ability to make it through the humps and hurdles that present themselves along your path. Maybe you are recovering from a serious illness and need perseverance to see the good beyond the bad. Or perhaps you are enduring pain after the loss of something you loved. In these situations try to recognize that you are strong, harness positivity, and visualize a purposeful future. With determination, you can get through these tough times. You can keep pushing so that you overcome your struggles, and live a life without regrets.

Our first caller, Kiyomi, is at a standoff with romance. She expresses her heart fully to love interests, but feels scared that her honesty is pushing them away. Kiyomi asks Nancy if she should go against her own nature, and change who she is to protect her heart. Nancy advises Kiyomi to remember that finding love is a journey, and that modifying herself to appease someone else is not the way to go. Instead, Nancy suggests that Kiyomi stay her course, until she finds someone who complements her. Nancy shares that putting her heart out there is one of Kiyomi’s unique strengths.

Our second caller, Heaven, needs advice on how to manage a long distance relationship, while she moves to a new city to start a new job. Heaven is concerned about not having enough quality time with her significant other. Nancy tells Heaven to be creative, to have fun, and to invest energy into keeping the relationship going. Nancy suggests sending love emails, letters, post cards, and care-packages, in order for Heaven to express her affection. She lets Heaven know that planning and agreeing on times to talk will keep the couple connected and on the same page.

Today’s inspirational guest is Donna Hartely. Donna is a survivor of many different life-altering events. As a struggling actress and at the age of thirty, Donna made plans to re-visit Hawaii, however, right after takeoff, her plane crashed and burned to the ground. In this life or death situation, Donna realized that she had not achieved all she had wanted to in life. Later in life, Donna overcame stage three cancer. After this, she had open-heart surgery and she survived. Donna’s mentality that love triumphs fear, gave her the tool to make it through again and again.

Our last caller, Derick, asks Nancy how to get his kids to respect their mother. Since, Derick is the disciplinarian at home, Nancy tells Derick to switch parental roles with his wife, so that she becomes the authoritative figure. Nancy suggests that together Derick and his wife watch movies with strong mother figures, so that she can learn from example, how to be an assertive mom with a parental voice.

To be a survivor means to make it through the dilemma. What you say to yourself, in your mind and out loud, will either build you up or break you down. By knowing that laughter, joy, and purpose are ahead of you, you can become motivated to push through the tough moments. Life isn’t easy, but telling yourself you can get through it, opens the doors to creating a future for yourself where you are living full out.
