Hi! I’m Gail Nobles. Today I’m going to talk about DJ Mixing Language. Here’s an example of what I mean. (Audio Recording)
The word “Hi” sometimes sounds like “Why” and later I hear “Hello”. It’s amazing how you can hear messages of a recording backwards while mixing. It’s funny how I hear the words why and hello so plain and clear. At least I didn’t hear any bad messages.
I’ve heard a lot about people playing music backwards. They call it backmasking & how it sounds like the devil. I’ve heard an example of a backmasked recording that made no sense at all. Just a bunch of noise.
It is said that backmasking started with the Beetles 1966 album Revolver. John Lennon played the tapes for the song “Rain” in reverse and liked the sound.
People are looking for secret messages in lyrics. The devil knows what people are seeking and what they believe in. He can work through creations. He was a musician. The Devil can twist words, and he’s full of tricks.
Any time you play a recording backwards, no matter how you do it, it’s going to sound funny no doubt. Some people open doors and welcomes dark and evil things to happen. Dark and evil things will come to you if you invite it. Some people are looking for the bad. You don’t have to play some music backwards to hear bad messages. Some people write and put bad messages in their songs anyway. You can hear them forward. I wouldn’t be surprised if you heard bad messages coming from their songs backwards. But some things are just myths.
I’m Gail Nobles. You’re listening to the Cat Bear.
