show moreMIDNIGHT MUSINGS Co-Host, Lael Rockwell, questions the way the movie wrapped up and hinted at who the next "big bad" might be in a sequel film. Lael's point: there are so many great villains in Batman's "Rogue's Gallery" why do filmmakers have to keep going back to the same one or two.
Interestingly enough, the three then take a closer look at the villains on display in Reeve's Batman film and the list is relatively short: Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman - which is the same four, key villains featured in the Batman TV show of the 1960s with Adam West and Burt Ward as the caped crusaders.
Rob points out that many of the classic Batman villains are pretty corny and might not fit with the gritty, realistic characters in Reeve's film. But the use of Falcone and Moroni as key villains in this first movie lent an air of credibility to the storytelling that impressed all three co-hosts.
