While she was a prosecutor, Angela won awards from two local domestic violence organizations: Sunrise of Pasco County and the Salvation Army Domestic Violence Program. She is also an actress in her spare time and has participated in community theatre her entire adult life. During the pandemic, she was inspired to write her first play, Duress, which focused on the ways in which violence is often used as a tool of manipulation against women. The play also addresses the unique issues women face when they become victims of crime. Duress was selected to be performed at Stage West Community Playhouse in Spring Hill, Florida, and was selected to be featured in Powerstories Tampa's Voices of Women Theater Festival, where it won the Female Empowerment Award.
