show moreThe brothers have a portable studio that they carry around in a backpack. As Matt alluded to, much of the writing and recording for their latest album Catacombs was done on the road over the course of the last few years. Sometimes the ideas would come to him in the middle of the night perhaps from a trans mundane world. The writing process would ensue and the ideas for “Catacombs” were born.
The band often incorporates their New Zealand heritage into the sound of Like A Storm by using a didgeridoo. Which gives their new single “The Devil Inside” a much darker feel. How often do they make it home these days? The band has been well traveled over the years setting up base in Toronto for a few years before moving to the states. How much of an adjustment has it been coming from New Zealand, to Canada and ending up in the United States?
