Dr. Swarnamalya Ganesh speaks at the International Conference on "Transnationalism in literary Studies" organized by the Literature department of The Anna Adarsh College for Women, India.
She speaks about the concept of Transnationalism in literature, history and performance. She address the notions of singularity that post colonial India has build for itself negating its multicultural and transnational past. Performance history, she argues is a standing example of transnationalism. She sites examples of treatises that are considered historical and therefore discounted their literary value while some others as "mere" literatures and therefore not afforded the historical status.
