“We grow via stress. Physical stress, mental stress, and we adapt to hard things. My reason, and I’ve noticed this with a lot of people, is that running is this sandbox that we get to experiment in and the stakes are pretty low. It doesn’t really matter if you don’t PR, get injured, or don’t win a race…it’s the muscle memory of getting uncomfortable that allows us to be better at getting uncomfortable in other aspects of life.” 34:38
