show moreTonight's showgram was a Super Bowl Preview Spectacular (with some other stuff)! The show opened with Rob angering Paulie with a story about pilot performance after a Covid layoff before they really got under each other's skin talking actual sports.
The NHL segment started with Uncle Paulie's Story Time where we learned the sad tale of Tony D'Angelo of the New York Rangers. The Honchos celebrated the ageless Zdeno Chara in DC and the Caps resurgence under Coach Laviolette. They wrapped the ice time with the Covid disruptions in Buffalo, Jersey and Vegas.
After a quick look at yet another new Covid protocol in the NBA, the Honchos took the field for some MLB talk. The Honchos went around the horn with the ongoing negotiations between MLB and the MLBPA, the Nolan Arenado trade, the retirement of Dustin Pedroia, and more heartache for the Mets in the person of Mickey Callaway.
The NFL Roundup was the Super Bowl Preview. The Honchos made their picks and even came up with a secret weapon for the Chiefs - Eli Manning! The off the field preview included whether the Buccaneers can use their cannons at Raymond James Stadium, the attendance at the game, Super Sunday food trends around the country, and the changing tone of Super Bowl ads. Plus, will Rob need his own defibrillator when he watches the game Sunday?
The Honchos wrapped up the extravaganza with the Dope of the Week. This week's winner? Juliana Carlos, Instagram influencer.
