At 16-years-old and without a single voice lesson, Crystal landed her first professional gig singing for Jessica Simpson. Since then, she shared the stage with a plethora of recording artists such as Ariana Grande, Drake, the Jacksons, Lady Gaga, Paul Stanley, Pitbull, and Stevie Wonder. She also had a starring role in the hit Broadway show Baby It’s You. Recently, she also performed at the 2022 Electric Forest Festival, which was attended by over 100,000 people and shared the stage with the String Cheese Incident.
Crystal has released three albums and her second record, #SHE, had two singles in the top 100 music charts. Several singles include: “All Mine,” which Crystal Starr co-produced with Grammy-nominated producers Bizkit and Butta, and “Head Over Heels,” produced by Renard Hughes and Grammy-winning producer Keith Harris.
In addition to her music endeavors, Crystal founded the Little Voices Nonprofit after having seen first-hand the many hardships and disappointments foster kids endure, she realized that she could combine her passion for music and serving others to help represent those who feel they are voiceless. Since its inception, the Little Voices Nonprofit has impacted the lives of over 1 million kids in foster care or inner cities.
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Crystal Starr spoke about the stories behind some of her songs, such as “I Still Love You” and “Goodie Two Shoes.” She also spoke about sharing the stage with the Jacksons, Lady Gaga, and Stevie Wonder, plus Little Voices.
