It’s the age old question, how do you organize your records? These days the answer may just be, “Discogs!” You know them, you love them, and maybe like us have an unhealthy addiction to admiring your own collection in person, but also on your phone. Discogs has been called the record collector’s hybrid of Wikipedia and eBay, as it is a one stop shop for all things information and marketplace. Truly a collector’s paradise. They also have a handy trove of articles and resources about all things physical format. On this episode Jenn and Robyn are joined by Jeffrey Smith, the Communications and Partnerships manager at Discogs! Before that he was founder and principal publicist for thirteen years at Crash Avenue, a boutique music public relations firm. Jeffrey takes us into the source code of Discogs to learn the ins and outs, the things that we find challenging, and the places they’re going.

A great big thank you to our friend Mandy Morgan owner of Nadine Records, and Portland, Oregon’s Dark Numbers for the use of their song ‘Middle Night’ off the album ‘If It Was It Would Be So’, a blend of sounds and genres, the record’s eight songs blend heavy riffs, and spacey atmospheres. Nadine Records is our music partner for the next few episodes, a primarily vinyl based record label that showcases a variety of unique artists and bands from the Pacific Northwest.
