Today on the show is a guest I am very honored to have on he is a native of New Jersey, Dr. Rasean Hodge received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Morehouse College and earned his medical degree, cum laude, from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, graduating in 2002. Dr. Hodge completed his internship and residency in Family Medicine from the Morehouse School of Medicine in 2005.
Upon completion of his education, Hodge matriculated into Family Medicine and served as Investigator on numerous clinical research studies, aimed at making the human condition better for those who are suffering. His compassion for those in need continued to be evident as he has lead several Hospice Programs throughout Georgia as both Medical Director and Assistant Medical Director. Volunteer and community service are important to Dr. Hodge as he dedicates countless hours giving back to the community, while offering his services for "free" at times for those who are financially strained and "in -home" visits, for those who are not able to physically consult or treat with him at his practice.
As recognition by his peers, Dr. Hodge has been granted numerous awards for his endless hard work and dedication. Included in his honors are the “Outstanding Georgia Citizen Award”, presented by Georgia’s Secretary of State and his 2x invite to serve as “Doctor of the Day” for the Georgia House of Representatives.
Currently, Dr. Hodge serves as Medical Director for Premier Chronic Pain Care in Atlanta, GA and is a strong advocate for the legalization and cultivation of Medicinal Cannabis. Dr. Hodge was a contributory factor in writing the law for HB 722 and its inclusiveness of Peripheral Neuropathy, as being one of the qualifying conditions for participation in the states Medicinal Cannabis program.
Dr. Hodge currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc. and in his spare time, loves spending time with his son, while continuing to pursue his goal of one day becoming an International Missionary.
