On 21 October 1966 a giant pile of coal spoil dumped on the side of a hill overlooking the Welsh village of Aberfan collapsed during heavy rain causing a massive coal slurry wave 40ft tall to pour down the hill destroying everything in its path including the Plantglas Junior School.
