A lot of people underestimate how tough it is for veterans to find housing. I thought it would be easier, but after three weeks, I still haven’t secured temporary housing, even though there’s availability. I’m also still working on my disability claim, which has been ongoing for a couple of years.

I’ve reached out to nonprofit organizations like the Marine Corps America's Fund, but it feels like there are endless hoops to jump through.

Sometimes, I’m not even sure what to ask for or what they can offer, and they usually just direct me to their qualification process.

I’m still sleeping in my car, which is absolutely nuts. I’m not allowed to stay on the base, and they even escorted me off the campus because of that. Homelessness is a significant issue here in Salt Lake, and it feels like I have to fight incredibly hard just to get a bed.
