It’s the 20 year anniversary of To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar, the unusual film that came out on the heels of the very successful Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

To Wong Foo put three A-list actors in full drag but unlike Priscilla, we bareley saw the drag queens out of drag as human beings, which gave the whole film a very surreal feel.

On top of that, the beginning and end of the film featured pretty much every famous drag queen at the time, including RuPaul in a Confederate Flag dress as Miss Rachel Tension, the pageant queen who sends Patrick Swayze, John Leguizamo and yes, Wesley Snipes on a road trip across America in full drag.

Joining us today is one of the queens prominently featured in the opening scene, Miss Understood. She’s taking us on a road trip back in time, from her work at Lucky Cheng’s with Laverne Cox to booking some of the world’s top drag queens and all the Drag Race girls before they were on that show.
