hey guys welcome to the recording studio and today's little broadcast with some tips on how we are making the pop song it's really turned into a pop song and it I can't deny it sounding very 80s and um if you're following the show I think this is the fourth um section of it the fourth ringtone that I'm um giving to you guys to use for personal use and once you start with that Groove you know that AR that AR synth which so typical of 80s music is very very hard to flip genre so we're going to stay with that but what I might try and do is add a bit of funk a bit later on now this is I've just I was walking along yesterday was in Brighton and I was thinking well that bit that I've done is it is it a chorus or is it a verse and I came home and I listened to it and I really like catch so I'm going to say that this is the chorus and I was playing around with this latest section and my vocal wasn't doing very much that was exciting so I just shifted one of the notes up a a tone a whole tone I kept in key and I I might have done a major leap but it was all in key still so yeah we'll see what you think anyway let's just have a look so what have I used vocal chorus on oh yeah I'll tell you what else I did the the final bit I can't live without you anymore classic Love Song line isn't it I doubled up on the chorus a bit which is my pedal board plug-in so I just wanted a little bit more um tenderness and I achieved that really easily with the pedal board PL um what I can't remember which one now but you'll know if you've been listening should I have a look let me have a look I don't want you to to get tooo bored um it was the Heavenly chorus okay and I use that a lot I really like it it's very very sweet sounding doesn't work so well with a guy's voice really works beautifully with my vocal not sure if it will with yours try it and see the other thing I didn't want to do too much was to make this sound too robotic so I'm really getting into making this sound like a real human and I think that's quite 80s as well you know before the sort of autotuned I mean don't get me wrong I've autotuned it but I I haven't completely um made it totally and utterly in tune it was a little bit where I just thought no I like that very small um vibration you know it does sound very human it does add interest I think we're all going to be quite bored with robots soon so you know bear that in mind I think the thing to bear in mind when you're making music is do you want it to be popular now or do you want it to have a legs you know a bit of longevity and I'm all for longevity so I will be using this whole song on you know as um the soundtrack to one of my videos the videos are more important because they're about the art and you know I'm a painter and I'm getting all my Christmas shows together however I do really like it I think it's I think it's all right guys I think it's coming together now come back tomorrow because I'm going to add something a little bit meteor I'm thinking electric guitar sort of' 80s ballad you know and maybe some some some funk elements as well so maybe some saxophone um trumpets I really like trumpets so we'll have a we'll have a play around tomorrow and um we'll have a listen and I'll tell you what I come up with you guys would probably do something completely different of course you would but it's really interesting I think to listen to somebody else's process okay so here we go here's today's freebie for you can't live without you anymore and it's a section of my ' 80s classic that I haven't written
