Galatians 2 deals with issues of circumcision and law-keeping and the primacy of faith in Jesus as the basis of salvation. Paul tells of his visit to Jerusalem to meet with the prominent leaders of the church there. He discusses his preaching to the Gentiles and how some Jewish Christians urged Titus, a Gentile Christian, to be circumcised. Paul argues passionately against this and emphasizes that salvation comes through faith in Jesus, not through works of the law. He also challenges the apostle Peter for his hypocrisy in occasionally eating with Gentiles but then retracting his fellowship when Jewish Christians arrive.
