In this Torah portion we begin the story of Joseph, the favored son of Israel (Jacob). Joseph is given a many colored coat that distinguishes his favored status as a son. This coat is symbolic of the firstborn inheritance and blessing. We discover the power of the blessing on Joseph’s life despite many trials and tribulations. The blessing on him continues to work in his favor and helping him reach his destiny. As believers in Yeshua, we too receive a blessing because of God’s firstborn son. We receive the blessing of Abraham because of the obedience of Jesus Christ. Galations 3:13,14)
