Génesis 4: ¡No abras la puerta a lo malo!

Génesis 4:1-12 RVA2015:
4 El hombre conoció a Eva su mujer, la cual concibió y dio a luz a Caín. Entonces ella dijo: “¡He adquirido un varón de parte del SEÑOR Dios!”. 2 Después dio a luz a su hermano Abel. Abel fue pastor de ovejas; y Caín, labrador de la tierra.
3 Aconteció después de un tiempo que Caín trajo, del fruto de la tierra, una ofrenda al SEÑOR. 4 Abel también trajo una ofrenda de los primogénitos de sus ovejas, lo mejor de ellas. Y el SEÑOR miró con agrado a Abel y su ofrenda, 5 pero no miró con agrado a Caín ni su ofrenda. Por eso Caín se enfureció mucho, y decayó su semblante. 6 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Caín: —¿Por qué te has enfurecido? ¿Por qué ha decaído tu semblante? 7 Si haces lo bueno, ¿no serás enaltecido? Pero si no haces lo bueno, el pecado está a la puerta y te seducirá; pero tú debes enseñorearte de él.
8 Caín habló con su hermano Abel. Y sucedió que estando juntos en el campo, Caín se levantó contra su hermano Abel y lo mató. 9 Entonces el SEÑOR preguntó a Caín: —¿Dónde está tu hermano Abel?
Y respondió: —No sé. ¿Soy yo acaso el guarda de mi hermano?
10 Le preguntó: —¿Qué has hecho? La voz de la sangre de tu hermano clama a mí desde la tierra. 11 Ahora pues, maldito seas tú, lejos de la tierra que abrió su boca para recibir de tu mano la sangre de tu hermano. 12 Cuando trabajes la tierra, ella no te volverá a dar su fuerza. Y serás errante y fugitivo en la tierra.


Esta es una de las historias más dolorosas de la Biblia. Ver a un hermano matar a su propio hermano. ¿Cómo pudo haber llegado a tal nivel esta situacion de Caín planear el asesinato de Abel?
Los celos y envidia embargaron el corazón de Caín porque Dios se agradó más de la ofrenda de Abel. Caín se dejó llevar por el odio, y este evolucionó a un sentimiento llamado rencor. Ese resentimiento no lo dejó evaluar y analizar la situación, preguntarse: ¿Por qué Dios no se agradó de mi ofrenda? ¿Hice algo malo?
En vez de enfocar sus energías en cambiar alguna actitud o mal hábito, en vez de corregir sus acciones y esforzarse en agradar a Dios y restaurar su relación con el Creador, prefirió abrirle la puerta a todas esas reacciones nocivas para el alma.
Aun el mismo Dios tuvo compasión de Caín y le advirtió sobre estas reacciones que le traería consecuencias. En el verso 7 Dios le dijo: "... si no haces lo bueno, el pecado está a la puerta y te seducirá; pero tú debes enseñorearte de él."
Caín fue advertido pero tomó el camino equivocado. Prefirió ignorar el llamado de atención de Dios y el consejo, prefirió guardar todas esas actitudes malignas, prefirió que esas reacciones negativas se convirtieran en cargas pesadas y prefirió que evolucionaran en algo que le traería condenación; esa combinación de emociones dañinas se convirtieron en pecado. Lo que él pensó se convirtió en realidad. Caín tomó acción de lo que ya había construido en su mente, cuando tomó la resolución de realizar su cometido.

Espero que la enseñanza de hoy nos enseñe a meditar más en los momentos cuando nos enojamos, nos frustramos o nos ofendemos. Debemos ser conscientes de guardar nuestra mente de pensamientos que nos impulsen a hacer el mal. Guarda tu corazón de envidias, egoísmo y odio. No permitas que alguna raíz de amargura crezca y sea estorbo para que puedas escuchar la voz de Dios, puedas sentir su presencia y recibir las bendiciones que están reservadas para ti.
Aplica esta enseñanza en tu vida personal, que sea reflejada en tu familia y que puedan todos juntos cerrar esa puerta que Satanás desea que abran para dejar entrar ese paquete mortal llamado pecado.

Escudriñemos más a fondo. Usa el método de estudio de la Palabra llamado VISUALÍZALO. Este método consiste en visualizar el evento en tu mente, metiéndote en el desarrollo de la historia y que puedas ver cómo sucedieron las cosas. Escríbelo en tu cuaderno de notas.

Genesis 4: Do not open the door to the bad!

Genesis 4:4-12 NLT:
Abel also brought a gift—the best portions of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected.
“Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
One day Cain suggested to his brother, “Let’s go out into the fields.” And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother, Abel, and killed him.
Afterward the Lord asked Cain, “Where is your brother? Where is Abel?”
“I don’t know,” Cain responded. “Am I my brother’s guardian?”
But the Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground! Now you are cursed and banished from the ground, which has swallowed your brother’s blood. No longer will the ground yield good crops for you, no matter how hard you work! From now on you will be a homeless wanderer on the earth.”


This is one of the most painful stories in the Bible. Seeing a brother kill his own brother. How could this situation of Cain have reached such a level planning the murder of Abel?
Jealousy and envy seized Cain's heart because God was more pleased with Abel's offering. Cain was carried away by hatred, and this evolved into a feeling called resentment. That resentment did not allow him to evaluate and analyze the situation, to ask himself: Why was God not pleased with my offering? Did I do something wrong?
Instead of focusing his energies on changing some attitude or bad habit, instead of correcting his actions and striving to please God and restore his relationship with the Creator, he preferred to open the door to all those reactions that are harmful to the soul.
Even God Himself had compassion on Cain and warned him about these reactions that would bring him consequences. In verse 7 God told him: "... if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
Cain was warned but he took the wrong path. He preferred to ignore God's warning and advice, he preferred to keep all those evil attitudes, he preferred that those negative reactions become heavy burdens and preferred that they evolve into something that would bring him damnation; that combination of harmful emotions turned into sin. What he thought became reality. Cain took action on what he had already built in his mind, when he resolved to carry out his task.

I hope that today's teaching will teach us to meditate more on the moments when we get angry, frustrated or offended. We must be aware of guarding our minds from thoughts that impel us to do evil. Guard your heart from envy, selfishness and hate. Do not allow any root of bitterness to grow and be a hindrance so that you can hear the voice of God, you can feel His presence and receive the blessings that are reserved for you.
Apply this teaching in your personal life, that it be reflected in your family and that you can all together close that door that Satan wants you to open to let in that deadly package called sin.

Let's scrutinize deeply. Use the Word study method called VISUALIZE IT. This method consists of visualizing the event in your mind, getting into the development of the story and that you can see how things happened. Write it in your notebook.
