show moreWhen the word of God speaks of good courage it means to be bolstered within with unflinching confidence – literally to radiate warm confidence, and embolden to show courage by God empowering you with the bold inner attitude to be of good courage.
As a born again believer this is the result of the LORD infusing His Strength by His in Working of Faith in you. The Holy Spirit inbirthing His Divine Persuasion in you gives you unflinching, bold courage, confidence to be unafraid. God empowering you with a Holy Confidence to be strong in the Lord and the Power of His Might and Ability and Time. It Is Always Received from God and Never Generated by you.
Sometimes it appears as the words good courage, others take heart and some others good cheer
Notice what the Word of God says:
Listen to what Jesus said to a paralyzed man:
Jesus had crossed over to his own town of Capernaum and some people brought to Him a man paralyzed and prostrated by illness, lying on a sleeping pad; And seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, "Be encouraged, my child! Your sins are forgiven. (Matthew 9:1-2)
Later in Matthew 9:20 Jesus is going through a Street and the crowds are thronging him, when a woman who had suffered with an issue blood for 12 years constantly bleeding came up behind him.
She touched the fringe of his robe, for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed- Restored to health.”
Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your Belief, your Trust and Confidence in Me, springing from faith God inbirthing in God) has restored you to health.has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment. “
(Matthew 9:20-22, Mark 5:34)
Again Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here! ””
Matthew 14:22-27, Mark 6:50
As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, large crowd followed. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road.

And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have MERCY ON ME! Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have MERCY ON ME! So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. And they called the blind man, telling him, TAKE COURAGE! Get up! He is calling you. (Mark 10:47-49)
Jesus tells you I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted! For I have overcome the world. I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you. (John 16:33)
Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord. (Psalm 27:14)
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! (Psalms 43:5)
The LORD tells you to be of good cheer, take comfort, be encouraged, take courage. He knows already all things that will come across your path and he tells you to take courage. He's aware of your human frailties (Psalms 103:14) and can be touch with the feelings of your infirmities. (Hebrews 4:15)
No matter what circumstance or situation you find yourself listen what God says as I speak his work over your spirit, soul and body. Remember, God is watching over His Work to perform. (Jeremiah 1:12) and he will perfect that which concerns you. (Psalms 138:8)
