March 29, 1999: Reliving great moments through writing
The control board had suddenly grown to twenty-five feet wide, forty feet tall—thankfully the station wasn’t on the air! It would have introduced a new form of dead air. After two minutes I pushed the button leading to the jock shout—again it rang out my name. I pushed it again! Again! Then finally, I started to cry…I was Neil Armstrong on the moon—my first step into radio and I’ve never forgotten it.
