show moreThis meditation can be used as a simple exercise that you can use when you start to feel that anxiety feeling coming on.
I always advise people to practice recognising their symptoms of anxiety, so that they realise when their anxiety is starting to manifest itself.
This technique can be used to ground yourself in the present moment, it turns your mind to concentrating on something else. And it's very difficult to think of two things at once, is it not?
So, if you practice this grounding method, when you feel the anxiety coming on, your anxiety levels will reduce as you progress through this technique.
For this podcast I'm going to use this grounding technique as a relaxation session but once you have listened, you'll realise that you can just do this exercise on your own, anywhere.
Practice will strengthen the neuro pathways in your brain so when you need something to reduce anxiety this exercise, we be readily available to you.
You can do this with eyes open or closed and for this podcast we will be closing the eyes down.
