Herbert George Wells (21 September 1866 – 13 August 1946) was an English writer. Possibly best well-known for his science fiction works, including War of the Worlds and The Time Machine he wrote dozens of novels, short stories, as well as works of social commentary, history, satire, biography and autobiography.
